It’s Good Business brings together environmental science, politics, economics and human storytelling in an accessible short-form documentary designed to start conversations far beyond the traditional environmental audience.
The biodiversity crisis is no longer only an environmental story. It is an economic story.
Biodiversity impacts our food, our climate, our businesses, our politics.
Around the world, a new generation of policymakers, entrepreneurs, investors, scientists and citizens is asking how economies can prosper without consuming the ecological systems on which prosperity ultimately depends.

CONABIO began with a radical idea: that a country should understand its natural wealth well enough to make better decisions about its future.
Created in 1992, CONABIO became a pioneering bridge between science, government and society, transforming vast amounts of biodiversity knowledge into something policymakers, communities and the public could actually use. Its story is bigger than one institution: it offers a glimpse of what becomes possible when nature is treated not as an obstacle to development, but as part of the foundation for it.

José Sarukhán is one of Mexico’s most influential ecologists and a leading global voice on biodiversity. A former Rector of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), he was the driving force behind the creation of CONABIO in 1992, building a new model for bringing scientific knowledge directly into government and public decision-making.
His work has helped reshape how biodiversity is understood, documented and protected in Mexico. In 2017, Sarukhán received the "Nobel Prize for Environment" (Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement) for his ability to translate scientific knowledge into lasting institutions and action.
